Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. – 2015
Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) 2015 is an all India examination for admission to Integrated Ph.D. degree programmes at lISc Bangalore (IISc), and M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D, M.Sc.-Ph.D. dual degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., M.Sc.-M.S.(Research)/Ph.D. dual degree and other post-Bachelor’s degree programmes at IITs (Bhubaneswar (IITBBS), Bombay (IITB), Delhi (IITD), Gandhinagar (IITGN), Guwahati (IITG), Hyderabad (IITH), Indore (IITI), Kanpur (IITK), Kharagpur (IITKgp), Madras (IITM), Roorkee (IITR) and Ropar (IITRPR)) for the academic session 2015-16. JAM 2015 is open to all nationals. However, foreign nationals will be required to satisfy the rules and regulations of the admitting Institute(s) pertaining to foreign students for admission.
IIT Guwahati is the organizing institute for JAM 2015. All correspondence related to JAM 2015 must be addressed to Organizing Chairperson, JAM 2015, GATE-JAM Office, IIT Guwahati, Guwahati-781039.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION:
For lISc Bangalore: First class (as declared by the university) for Un-Reserved/OBC category candidates and second class (as declared by the University) or 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off, for SC/ST and PwD category candidates in the qualifying degree.
For IIT Guwahati: At least (a) 55% marks or 6.0 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, in Major/Honors and Pass in all other subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries or (b) 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined, for Un-Reserved/OBC(NCL) Category Candidates; and at least (a) 50% marks or 5.5 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, in Major/Honors and pass in all other subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, or (b) 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CPI in a scale of 10, without rounding off, taking into account all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined, for SC/ST and PwD Category Candidates, in the qualifying degree.
For all other IITs: At least 55% aggregate marks, without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for Un-Reserved/OBC Category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off, (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for SC/ST and PwD Category candidates in the qualifying degree.
For candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks) the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the admitting institute(s).
Test Papers, Mode and Date of Examination: JAM 2015 examination will be held on February 08, 2015 (Sunday). JAM 2015 will have seven test papers, namely, Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH), each of three hours duration. For all the papers, JAM 2015 examination will be conducted in ONLINE mode ONLY. A candidate can appear in either one or two test papers subject to the restrictions of test schedule given below and by paying an additional fee for the second test paper.

Note: JAM 2015 Committee may add and/or drop any city as a test centre at its discretion.
INFORMATION BROCHURE & APPLICATION PROCEDURE: The information brochure and all other information related to JAM 2015 will be available on the website: http://www.iitg.ernet.in/jam2015 (or) http://www.iitg.ac.in/jam2015. A candidate can register and apply ONLINE only for JAM 2015 from September 03, 2014 to October 09, 2014. The application fee can be paid either online or through challan via State Bank of India. Additional bank charges may apply for the above transactions. In case a candidate chooses to pay through challan, then the challan payment should be made in cash at any SBI branch latest by September 30, 2014 (Tuesday). The application fee is non refundable. The candidates are advised to visit the JAM 2015 website regularly for any updates.

JOINT ADMISSION PROCEDURE: Admission to the above mentioned academic programmes in IISc Bangalore and IITs for the academic session 2015-16 will be made on the basis of all India merit list of JAM 2015. For some of the programmes at IISc, IITB, IITK and IITM, the short listed candidates will additionally have to appear for an interview. Candidates who qualify in any test paper of JAM 2015 shall be eligible to apply for admission to all the academic programmes corresponding to that test paper, provided they also satisfy the minimum educational qualifications and the eligibility requirements, as specified by the Institute(s) in which the admission is sought. After the declaration of JAM 2015 results, qualified candidates shall be required to apply to the Organizing Institute (IIT Guwahati) specifying their preferences for the programmes for which the admission is sought. Candidates should note that being in the merit list of any test paper neither guarantees nor provides any automatic entitlement for admission. Further details regarding admissions, prescribed fees, etc., shall be available on the JAM 2015 website.
