
For Students belonging to Economically Weaker Sections pursuing Higher Studies
Objective
To award scholarships to meritorious students from Economically Weaker Sections to support higher education and improve employment opportunities.
Eligibility
A. General Scholarship (After Class 12th / Diploma)
- Passed Class XII (or equivalent) with at least 60% marks / equivalent CGPA in Academic Year 2023-24 / 2024-25 / 2025-26.
- Taken admission in Academic Year 2026-27 in first year of:
- Medicine (MBBS, BAMS, BHMS, BDS)
- Engineering (BE, B.Tech, B.Arch)
- Graduation in any discipline, Integrated Courses, Diploma, Vocational Courses or ITI
- Parents’ / Guardian’s annual income from all sources ≤ ₹ 4,50,000.
B. Special Scholarship (After Class 10th)
- Passed Class X (or equivalent) with at least 60% marks / equivalent CGPA in Academic Year 2023-24 / 2024-25 / 2025-26.
- Taken admission in Academic Year 2026-27 in first year of Intermediate / 10+2 / Vocational / Diploma / ITI courses.
- Parents’ / Guardian’s annual income from all sources ≤ ₹ 4,50,000.

Scholarship is provided for the entire duration of the course (excluding internship / stipendiary period), subject to renewal conditions.
Number of Scholarships
- General Scholarship: 80 per LIC Division (40 Male + 40 Female)
- Special Scholarship: 40 per LIC Division (20 Boys + 20 Girls)
(Gender slots are interchangeable in case of shortage within a category.)
Key Conditions
- Not applicable for pure Post-Graduation courses (Integrated courses covering Graduation + PG are eligible for the full duration).
- Selection is strictly on merit based on Class 12th / 10th marks. In case of tie, lower parental income gets preference.
- Candidates already receiving scholarship from other Trusts / Institutions (except Government scholarships) are not eligible.
- Correspondence / Part-time / Open University / self-study courses (CA, CS, ICMAI etc.) are not eligible.
- Only one student per family is normally selected (relaxation possible if the second applicant is a girl).
- Income Certificate issued by competent Revenue Authority is mandatory.
Payment of Scholarship
- First instalment due on selection (around 1st September 2026).
- Subsequent instalments released after submission of semester results / attendance certificate.
- Amount is transferred directly to the student’s bank account via NEFT.
