Admission Notice For Placement Oriented Course
- 52 weeks PGDC in Thermal Power Plant Engineering (5th Batch) – Starting: 31.08.2015
- 26 weeks PGDC in O&M of Transmission & Distribution System (7th Batch) – Starting: 31.08.2015
ABOUT CBIP: Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP) was set up by the Government of India for monitoring of Irrigation & Power of our country in the pre-independence era. It is now committed towards the development of Irrigation, Power & Renewable energy sectors of the country through their Human Resources development.
ABOUT THE COURSES: The courses are modular type of 52 and 26 weeks duration covering the complete syllabus as per the provision of mandatory training under CEA2010 Regulations for O&M of Thermal Power Station and Transmission & Distribution System.
WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN: The main aim of the courses is to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available for recruitment to the O&M of Thermal Power Stations and Transmission & Distribution areas of Indian Power Sector. The courses are also open for the sponsored candidates from SEBs/Power utilities.
ELIGIBILITY: B-Tech / B.E. or equivalent in Mechanical / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Power / Electronics & Instrumentation / C&l Engineering for PGDC (Thermal) and B.E. or equivalent in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering for PGDC (T&D) from a recognized university / institution with minimum of 60% marks all through (Xth, Xllth and Graduation) and having not more than two supplementary/ backlog/ATKT during the entire course and no backlog in last semester. Those appearing in their final year examination can also apply. However, they must submit their degree/provisional degree at the time of counseling/start of the course. The candidates shall also have to submit medical fitness certificate at the time of admission with no color blindness.
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION: Based on the marks of 10th, 12th, Engineering Degree and or GATE 2015 Etc.
AGE LIMIT: Non -sponsored candidates, 27 years as on 31.08.2015. No limit for sponsored candidates.
FEES: For non-sponsored & sponsored candidates, Rs. 1,95,000/- & Rs. 2,45,000/- (Thermal) and Rs. 1,50, 000/- & Rs. 2,00,000/- (T&D) respectively, excluding the lodging & boarding charges.
TOTAL SEATS: 60 (sixty seats for each batch), 25% seats are reserved for candidates sponsored from Power utilities having more than 1 year experience and 60% marks or more in Graduation.
VENUE: CBIP, Gurgaon (NCR)/New Delhi.
PLACEMENT: Though CBIP is not committed for any confirmed placement, excellent placements have been achieved forthe current Thermal Batch and placement process of current T&D batch has already started. 40 out of 41 students of the Last T&D batch were placed.

Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering Students can apply for both the courses at a time with mentioning their preference and the demand draft of 600/- in favour of CBIP, New Delhi.
