M Des ADMISSIONS

The four-semester M Des programmes offered in Communication Systems / Electronic Systems / Mechanical Systems are based on the credit system. The curricula of the M Des programmes have been framed to specialize engineers with domain specific design and manufacturing skills required for the creation of communication, electronic and mechanical products.

The M Des programmes offered are
(1) M Des in Communication Systems
(2) M Des in Electronic Systems
(3) M Des in Mechanical Systems

Categories of Admission
A. GATE (2013 / 2014) Qualified Candidates
B. IIT/IIIT BTech Candidates
C. Sponsored Candidates

A. Eligibility and Selection Criteria: The eligible shortlisted candidates with a valid GATE (2013 / 2014) score (Category A) will be called for the personal interview and those without a GATE score (Category B & C) need to appear for test and interview.
B. Eligibility for IIT/IIIT BTech Candidates: Candidates graduating/graduated from IITs/IIITs with B.Tech degree and having C.G.P.A. of 7.5 and above for SC/ST and 8.0 and above for others can apply without GATE Score.
C. Eligibility for Sponsored Candidates: Candidates working and sponsored (with full pay and allowances for 24 months) by industry / government organizations / private and public enterprises recognized by DST engaged in R & D work/ engineering colleges recognized by AICTE, possessing at least two years of professional experience as on the last date of receipt of applications at IIITD&M can apply, provided they hold:
i. B.E./ B Tech degree from AICTE recognized Engineering Colleges/university with first class or 60% aggregate marks in all the four years (no need of having GATE Score) ; or
ii. AMIE and other Associate memberships (listed above) with a valid GATE Score

Application Form: Application form can be downloaded from the institute website www.iiitdm.ac.in. The completed Application form should accompany a DD for Rs. 150 (Rs.75 for SC/ST/PD/Female Candidates).DD should be in favour of ‘The Registrar, IIITD&M Kancheepuram’, payable at Chennai.

Results will be declared on 17^th June 2014.

Selected candidates need to send acceptance together with the fees for the first semester on or before 10^th July 2014 in person or by speed post.
