IIS Undergraduate Programme – B.S. Admission for 2011

The Indian Institute of Science, a leading institution of higher learning with a strong tradition of research, is opening its portals to undergraduate students by launching a four-year Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Programme. The programme is designed as a balanced blend of core science and interdisciplinary topics to serve as a platform for attractive career opportunities in academia and industry. ELIGIBILITY
Candidates who have completed their II PUC /12th Standard in 2010 and those who are expecting to complete in 2011 are eligible to apply. The candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects during their PUC / 12th Standard. Candidates who have studied Biology, Statistics, Electronics, Computer Science, etc. in addition to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are also eligible to apply. The candidates should have a first class or 60% or equivalent grade (relaxed to pass class for SC/ST candidates).

SELECTION
Based on the merit list of one of the following national examinations: KVPY-SA (appeared in 2009), KVPY-SB (appeared in 2010), KVPY-SX/SB+2 (appeared in 2010), IIT-JEE (appearing in 2011), AIEEE (appearing in 2011) and AIPMT (appearing in 2011).

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically-Handicapped (PH) and Kashmiri-Migrant (KM) candidates: As per Government of India regulations.

HOW TO OBTAIN THE APPLICATION FORM
(a) The Application Form may be obtained by either of the following two methods:
(1) Off-line application – Send your request for an application form with two address
slips, with your mailing address clearly written (preferably stickers), and a Demand Draft for Rs.600/- for GN/OBC/KM candidates (Rs.300/- for SC/ST/PH categories, along with a copy of an appropriate certificate) to Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560 012. The DD has to be drawn in favour of “Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore“.
(2) Online application – Online application may he prepared and submitted by accessing the IISc website www.iise.ernet.in/ug with effect from 01.01.2011. Online
application fee is Rs.400/- for GN/OBC/KM candidates and Rs.200/- for SC/ST/PH categories. After submitting the online application, a printed copy of the filled online application along with a Demand Draft for the required amount must be sent to the Institute.
(b) Submission of Application Forms.
Filled-in off-line application form and online application form (printed copy) should reach the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore-560012 on or before 31.03.2011.

Commencement of issue of off-line application forms and submission of online applications: 01.01.2011

Last date for issue of application forms and closure of website for submission of online applications: 31.03.2011

Last date for receipt of both off-line application form and online application form (printed copy): 31.03.2011

  1. i want to study bs programee in mathematics. iam appearing in aieee exam in 2011. what rank should be there so as to get the chance to study the said course.
