Admission into Ph.D. Programs for December 2015 session
The Ph.D. Programs, in Full-time (FT) and Part-time (PT) modes, are offered in the following Departments:

In addition to Institute fellowships, 2 full-time fellowships are available under “Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme” in Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), Information Technology and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) in the Departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering (1 fellowship) and Computer Science and Engineering (1 fellowship). The scheme is sponsored by Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India. For more details about the scheme http://phd.medialabasia.in. There is no separate selection for this scheme.Selection will be done along with other candidates in respective Departments.
Ph.D. PROGRAM ON FULL-TIME BASIS IN ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTS
- Eligibility: The minimum qualification for Ph.D. programme is M.Tech /ME or equivalent degree. Admission to aPh.D. program shall be open to candidates who passed theprescribed qualifying examination in first class with a CumulativeGrade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5/10 (6.0/10 in the case of SC/ST candidates) or not less than 60% aggregate marks(55% marks in the case of SC / ST candidates).
- Candidates who have completed M.Tech./M.S. programs through GATE score (or) who already possesses a valid GATE score are eligible for admission with institute fellowship as per MHRD norms.
- Category-wise (OBC, SC, ST, PWD) reservations on overall available seats will be followed as per Government of India norms.

Ph.D. PROGRAM ON FULL-TIME BASIS IN SCIENCE & HUMANITIES DEPARTMENTS
- Candidates with valid GATE / NET scores only, are eligible for admission to Ph. D program in Science Departments / Humanities and Social Sciences. Selected candidates are eligible for institute fellowship as per MHRD norms.
- Eligibility: The minimum qualification for Ph.D. programme is M.Phil or equivalent degree, or M.Sc./M.Sc.(Tech) / MA or equivalent degree. Admission to aPh.D. program shall be open to candidates who passed theprescribed qualifying examination in first class with a CumulativeGrade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5/10 (6.0/10 in the case of SC/ST candidates) or not less than 60% aggregate marks(55% marks in the case of SC / ST candidates).
- Category-wise (OBC, SC, ST, PWD) reservations on overall available seats will be followed as per Government of India norms.

- Candidates with a valid GATE / NET score only are eligible for the award of institute fellowship.
- Eligibility: The minimum qualification for Ph.D. programme is MBA or equivalent degree. Admission to aPh.D. program shall be open to candidates who passed theprescribed qualifying examination in first class with a CumulativeGrade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5/10 (6.0/10 in the case of SC/ST candidates) or not less than 60% aggregate marks(55% marks in the case of SC / ST candidates).
- Category-wise (OBC, SC, ST, PWD) reservations on overall available seats will be followed as per Government of India norms.
THE NAMES OF THE SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES CALLED FOR THE DATES OF INTERVIEW AND / OR WRITTEN TEST WILL BE AVAILABLE ON INSTITUTE WEB SITE: www.nitw.ac.in AFTER 16 November 2015.
Ph.D. PROGRAM ON FULL-TIME BASIS: Instructions:
The candidates selected for admission for Ph.D. under Full-time basis are expected to stay on the campus.
- The filled-in application is Annexure-I.
- The filled-in applications along with necessary documents and a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- in the case of SC/ST candidates) towards Registration fee, drawn in favour of The Director, National Institute of Technology, Warangal, payable at SBH, NIT Warangal branch (Code No. 20149) or SBI, Battala Bazar (Code No. 07456) should reach Associate Dean (Admissions), Academic Section, National Institute of Technology, Warangal 506 004 on or before 06 November 2015.
- Superscribe on the envelope Application for Ph.D. Program – December-2015 Session
- The candidate is required to write on the reverse side of the Demand Draft his/her name and the program to which the application is being submitted.
- It is advised to send the application by Registered Post with acknowledgement due.
- The candidates who are employed and wish to do Ph.D under full-time must enclose NO OBJECTION certificate from the employer.
