Assam Oil School of Nursing admission notification for General Nursing and Midwifery Course – 2024

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals fulfilling the following eligibility criteria for admission to the GNM course for the session 2024-25 at Assam Oil School of Nursing at IOCL (AOD), Digboi Refinery. Only female candidates meeting the following criteria may apply.

# 06 (six) no. seats shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Digboi Legislative Constituency (DLC), candidates claiming reservations shall be required to produce valid supporting document.

COURSE DETAILS: General Nursing & Midwifery Course (GNM) course will be a full-time regular course for a duration of 3 (three) years.

MODE OF ADMISSION & RECOGNITION: The students of GNM will be admitted to Assam Oil School of Nursing (AOSN), which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council and the course is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.

Minimum Educational Qualification: Selection process: Only female candidates are eligible for admission. Candidates shall have to apply online with GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE-2024) Roll No. and with total marks obtained in GNMEE-2024. The candidates will have to upload the following documents in our AOSN online portal.

  1. 10+2 class passed preferably Science (PCB) & English with aggregate of 40% marks at the qualifying examination from a recognized Board.
  2. Candidates are also eligible from state open school recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government.
  3. 10+ 2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
  4. 10+2 vocational ANM under CBSE Board or other equivalent Board from the school and recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
  5. Registered as ANM with pass marks from State Nursing Registration Council.
  6. Class X & XII marksheet and certificate issued by the concerned board.
  7. Conversion certificate from CGPA/OGPA/Letter Grade to percentage of marks, if applicable, from concerned board.
  8. Income Certificate (FY 2023-24) issued by Competent Authority. Issued on or after 01.04.2024.
  9. Candidates seeking reservations under Digboi Legislative Constituency are required to produce Voter Identity card of self or parent.
  10. GNMEE Score card 2024.

The prescribed qualification should a regular course. If a candidate fails in any of the above-mentioned subject whether it is a compulsory/additional subject, her application shall be summarily rejected. Grace marks given by the board shall not be taken into calculation for calculating pass marks.

Candidates possessing professional qualifications training/ course such as BE/ B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB, MCA etc. or any such equivalent qualification shall not be eligible.

Age Limit: Minimum age for admission will be 17 years (as on 12.2024). The upper age limit is 35 years. Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates as per presidential directives. Certificate issued by a Board of Secondary Education for passing Matriculation (Class-X) examination shall be the only acceptable document in support of proof of age.

Relaxation in upper age upto 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBCNCL candidates considered against reserved positions will be allowed.

Filling up of seats is solely at the discretion of the management based on suitability of candidates and no claim will arise for engagement, if some of these seats are not filled due to unsuitability/insufficient in number of candidates.

The decision of the Management will be final and binding on all candidates on all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications, mode of selection and cancellation of the selection process etc. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

Only those candidates who are declared fit in medical examination shall be considered for admission.

Stipend & Training Details: The selected candidates shall be paid a consolidated stipend per month for 1st year – Rs. 2,500/-; 2nd year – Rs. 2,700/-; 3rd year – Rs. 2,900/-.
