Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University (PSTU) was established with the broad objective of fulfilling the linguistic, literary and cultural needs of Telugu speaking people. Being one among the few language universities in the country, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University has made pioneering efforts in the fields of language, literature, history, culture, fine arts, performing arts and journalism.
The CDE is planning to establish Study Centres in different regions of the state to reach the unreached. At present it has four regional centres at Rajahmundry, Kuchipudi, Srisailam and Warangal.
The courses offered by the Centre were duly recognized by the Distance Education Council (DEC), a wing of Indira Gandhi National Open University, in May 2011.
COURSES & ELIGIBILITY
? M.A. Astrology: Any graduate or its equivalent degree from a recognised University with an aptitude in astrology.
? M.A. Telugu: Any graduate with Telugu as second language or as an optional or its equivalent degree in Oriental Learning or Degree with Telugu medium or Telugu as a subject up to S.S.C with 60 percent marks in Telugu Subject. Degree students who do not have the above qualifications should get through an eligibility test by payment of Rs.750/- DD.
? M.A. Sanskrit: Any graduate with any modern or classical language as second language or its equivalent degree in Oriental Learning. Degree students who do not have the above qualifications should get through an eligibility test by payment of Rs.750/- DD.
? M.A. Communication, Journalism: Any graduate from a recognised university.
? M.A. Communication, Journalism (One year Course): BCJ from a recognised University.
? M.A. English Language Teaching (ELT): Any graduate from a recognised university.
? M.A. Tourism Management: Any graduate from a recognised university.
? B.A. Music : Intermediate with an aptitude in Music
? B.A. Special Telugu: Intermediate with Telugu medium or Telugu as a subject
? P.G. Diploma in Television Journalism: Any graduate from a recognised university
? P.G. Diploma in Jyothirvaasthu: Any graduate from a recognised university
? Diploma in Light Music: Knowledge in reading & writing with an aptitude in music
? Diploma in Film Writing: SSC or its equivalent
? Diploma in Jyothisham : Intermediate or its equivalent
? Certificate Course in Jyothisham: SSC or its equivalent
? Sangeeta Visarada : Must have completed 12 years age at the time of admission. Candidates who have successfully completed Kalpravesika (evening course) in Carnatic Music, conducted by the Music Dept., PSTU are eligible for direct admission into II Year.
? Certificate Course in Modern Telugu: SSC or its equivalent
HOW TO APPLY
OBTAINING THE PROSPECTUS-CUM-APPLICATION FORM
Application form-cum-Prospectus can be obtained from the Director, Centre for Distance Education, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Public Gardens, Hyderabad – 500 004, A.P., on payment of Rs. 300/- and Rs. 400/- By Post through crossed Demand Draft, drawn in favour of “The Registrar, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University” from any nationalised bank, payable at Hyderabad. Payment in the form of cash, cheques, Postal Orders or Money Orders can not be accepted. The candidate has to write the particulars of name, address and the course on the backside of the D.D. The application form and prospectus can also be downloaded from the University Website: www.teluguuniversity.ac.in and submit the same along with the crossed D.D for Rs.300/- drawn in favour of The Registrar, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, along with the course fee D.D of the respective course.
SUBMISSION OF FILLED IN APPLICATION FORM
Applications, filled in all respects, along with the required documents and the demand draft towards the course fee drawn in favour of ‘Registrar, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University’, (if the application is downloaded from the Internet demand draft for Rs. 300/- apart from the course fee) have to be submitted to the Director, Centre for Distance Education, Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, Public Gardens, Hyderabad – 500 004, Telangana in person or by Registered post by 20.01.2018.
PAYMENT OF FIRST YEAR COURSE FEE AND EXAM FEE
Candidates who takes admission into First year course shall pay the Course Fee and Examination Fee at the time of Admission.
PAYMENT OF SECOND AND SUBSEQUENT YEARS COURSE FEE AND EXAM FEE
Course fee of second and subsequent years along with Examination Fee should be remitted immediately after completion of annual exams. Candidates will receive the study material only after remittance of course fee and Examination Fee.
CONTACT CLASSES
Contact classes will be conducted for all the courses of previous year and for second and subsequent years at Hyderabad. Attending the contact classes has multiple advantages to the students to develop their practical skills and assess the progress in the learning process.
A) For the students admitted in the academic year 2017-18 2.8.2018 to 11.8. 2018.
B) For the second year students 2.2. 2019 to 11.2.2019
C) Every year January / February Onwards for further years students.
Students will be informed about the contact classes through news papers, electronic media and also through university website. No individual information is sent to candidates in this regard.
ACADEMIC CALENDAR – 2017-18
1. Last date for submission of admission application form without late fee: 20th January 2018
2. Last date for submission of admission application with late fee of Rs.300/-: 28th February, 2018
3. Contact-cum-Counseling Classes:

7. Submission of Documentary Film for PG Dip. TV Journalism Course: 31st July, 2018
8. Annual Examinations: October / November 2018
